Jack's been avoiding this moment for months, ever since Bitty started in about dates and guests and flowers. He's tried to play out the conversation in his head, tried to find a path from 'how' and 'why' that didn't end at 'you know what, Zimms, why don't you go fuck yourself'. He hasn't managed it yet. There was always something more important pulling his focus, like Parse's latest shirtless selfie, or his sleep-roughened voice in Jack's ear. Telling Parse was a problem for the future. Jack had time.
He thought he'd have more time.

“You still haven’t said where you disappeared to for hours,” Jack says.
“Why is it any of your business?” Kent asks, abruptly frustrated. Jack had to suspect, or he wouldn’t be this persistent. Kent had thought they were doing plausible deniability, though, the same way Jack looked the other way when Kent made a dirty play.
In the summer after his first season in Québec, Kent goes out to pick up guys. Jack thinks this is a terrible idea.
