Because he had been characteristically verbose on the subject of the defeat of Forge. To all and sundry, he related the tale of how his band of thieves had saved Neverwinter from the clutches of Forge, Sofina, and Szass Tam. Hell, even the poor slobs who’d got eaten by the dragon made an appearance in those stories. But, as if in counterbalance—a silent arrangement made without ever once acknowledging he was doing it—the one person he never mentioned during his ramblings had been Xenk Yendar.
