Summary
A wild thought: after the theft of the Arkenstone, Durin's Folk start regarding Bilbo as the Master Burglar. They think his deed to be an unsurpassed achievement in the craft of burglary, and many of them take lively interest in Bilbo.
Fortunately, it turns out that Thorin has a solution which may make all the ridiculousness a bit less bothersome.

“At the coronation?!” Lyr exclaims, a triumphant glint appearing in his eye, “aw, Zahra, you’re going to lose miserably!”
Durin's Folk walk Erebor's halls once again... and they're very much busy with rebuilding the reclaimed kingdom. The restoration is a tedious task, however, and the residents of the Lonely Mountain begin to long for some new tale to excite them, as everyobdy knows the story of the Quest by heart at this point, and well... the King and Master Burglar have always seemed rather close, haven't they?

“Your Majesty?” Balin asks, snapping the King Under the Mountain out of his pleasant train of thought.
With an apologetic smile, Thorin answers, “Forgive me, my friend, but I must go get my glasses. I always forget that my eyesight isn’t as good as it once was.”
Balin’s eyes twinkle all too knowingly, as if he saw right through the little lie.
Or, Master Burglar keeps stealing.
