Summary
1972. An AU twist on the Dream Scene in Exeunt. Not much of a plot, but some introspection!
She stands in a semi-darkness interspersed with flashes of light. The slow motion of the glitterball suspended high above her head casts an undulating white mandorla around her. Silvery slivers adorn the lace on her neckline, caress her hands, encasing in white fire the diamond on her finger.
She stands there as if alone while silhouettes shrouded in darkness, tearing themselves apart in the frenzy of their dancing, surround her. The beat is loud, the singing voice indeterminable, the song and its lyric of no importance. She stands by herself, cloaked in the light emanating from her white dress, flared sleeves flowing around her slim wrists, lace the only ornament of the simple design, her head bare, her flowing dark locks framing a face of attentive serenity.
She stands, a lone pillar of light in the chaos of his life.
