Summary
“Be not afraid,” he spoke to the Righteous Man, but the Righteous Man cried out at the sight of him and the sound of him.
Castiel retreated. He was the Righteous Man. He was touched by angels. Literally and figuratively. Surely, Dean Winchester should be able to perceive him.
Struck with a thought, Castiel’s eyes wandered and his rings spun endlessly and his wings clapped like thunder.
The Righteous Man did not want to perceive him.

“I need your help,” Dean panted a breath.
“What exactly are we looking for?” He turned his gaze up to Dean, watching as his brother turned into a vegetable of the tomato variety in his silence.
“Uh,” Dean fumbled, “stuff.” He coughed awkwardly. “Like uh… how one might see an angel’s true form. Or something.”

“Yeah? Well, I didn’t ask him to!” Dean shouted, knuckles whitening around the book. “I didn’t ask Cas to stay here!”
Turning slowly, Dean felt his heart skip and freeze within the cavity of his chest when his eyes locked with Cas’. He opened his mouth in several aborted attempts to speak.
“You’re right,” Cas finally whispered. “My apologies.”
