“No, Alistair,” she looked at him then, and something in her eyes…
In all the time he’d known her (which admittedly hadn’t been very long) she’d been…serious. Her humour was dry and sharp as her blades, but she always focused on the task, always got the job done. She’d been so focused in the woods when he’d accompanied them to gain their vials of darkspawn blood, and so focused when they’d fought their way through the tower. Her eyes were always heavy, hardened, though Alistair didn’t know by what.
They weren’t like that now though.
There was..joy, there. Unexpected, wonderful joy.
Laurana laughed, and the sound seemed to fill the clearing around them, “rain exists,”
