“Whiskey dick of the claws,” Logan repeated back Wade’s own words to him, from the moment they first met, “But hold the whiskey.”
He held his breath for a laugh from Wade that never came.
“I–” Wade pulled back, fingers dropping from Logan’s face and pressing over his knees instead, “So you’re fucking digging them out?”
It was phrased like a question, but Logan knew it was quite obvious
“We have a job.”
What else would Wade have him do without the claws? It wasn’t like Logan was charming enough to–at minimum–be a distraction for whatever bullshit Wade had planned.
(Logan cuts his hands open when his claws won't come out. Wade walks in on it.)

Logan glared at Wade, because, no–no it was not a fucking option inside an unused room in the X-Mansion when they had a training in fifteen goddamn minutes.
“Wade–jesus–no, we can’t–”
“Oh, but we can.”
Logan buried his face in his hands, praying to a god he didn’t believe in that frustration alone would force the claws from his arms.
“Fuck no, not here–”
Wade crouched in front of him, between Logan’s legs, and placed his index finger right over the center of Logan’s lips.
“Say no more. Yes, here. There’s a bed, and extra sheets in the top of the closet. There’s a laundry chute down the hall. Check, check, check. All I’m seeing are net positives, baby cakes.”
(Logan's claws won't come out, so Wade fucks them out of him.)

“Alright, first-things-first, we’re not going to panic.”
Perfect, just the thing to say to a person on the cusp of fucking panicking.
Wade had led Logan straight to a kitchen chair, forcing him into it and bending down to work his hands over the clasps of his boots.
Logan allowed it; it wasn’t like he could reach down and do it himself.
“Then, while we’re actively not-panicking, we're also going to maintain only superficial levels of spiraling. Gonna keep ourselves out of the weeds. Gonna not have a giant-ass crisis about the fact that this remarkably unrevealing little get-up is sure as shit getting sliced open when I strip it off of you. But hey–cut-outs might be coming back in; twenty-fifteen was like, ten years ago now, it’s practically vintage.”
Logan’s fingers trembled, had been trembling since he stepped off of the jet. He held them out and away from his body, wanting some level of separation between himself and the six sharpened weapons that he wished could be ripped out of him or shoved back in, whatever was the easiest way to get them out of his sight.
(Logan can't retract his claws. Wade does his best to help.)
