"What do you mean Grayson is gone?" Damian pressed.
"He just, vanished. Okay?" Her voice broke. "The camera outside the warehouse he entered caught the flash of light that lit up Gotham's skies and caused the power outage." Bab's voice grew thicker, "His tracker went offline. Dick pressed his emergency beacon seven minutes and forty two seconds before then."
"And we just ignored it..." Tim finished off, his words like a punch to the gut.
Dick placed the shiny, pristine bird-like mask on his desk near a small stack of paperwork and took off the hood. Rubbing his eyes, he peered into the mirror: hair dull and crisp from dried sweat, a light pink dusted his cheeks - it had to have been more prominent thirty minutes before, and the pale hooded cape that had gotten dirtied while teaching trainees. Dick frowned, picking at the coven sigil broach sewn into the front of his uniform.
He will bide his time here, just until he can go home.
