Summary
The Mage stood before taking a considering look at Luo, then his apprentice, then Luo again.
"Actually... would you like to come and see how the eggs are enchanted?"
The apprentice's head snapped up to look at his master. The shock on his face was quickly replaced by what looked like panic.
"Master, please--"
"Lord Luo is a friend," the Mage said, raising an eyebrow. "I've taught you to treat our friends well, haven't I? Generosity is a virtue, dearest."

Summary
The Ranger sighed, and smoothed a hand over the illustration. "There are still nemotoda crescerii being born, but they can't grow up and mature enough to have their own offspring. I'm afraid the species may die out within our lifetime."
"Then we have to save them!" Aldo cried, incensed. "Isn't there anything we can do?"
The Ranger gave Aldo one of his small, rare smiles.
"I actually have a specimen of the worm, here. I'm hoping if I'm able to study it's lifecycle, I'll be better able to figure out a way to help it." The Ranger tapped his fingers on the book, looking torn. "I just need to find a host."

Summary
Aldo looked trepidatiously up--and up, and up--at the eight foot cube of slime. The light from the Ranger's torch flickered against the cave walls and made the slime look as though it was shifting... possibly in anticipation.
It's an endangered species, the Ranger had said.

The voice hums, considering, and Eben can feel both of the big hands slide to his hips. Squeeze.
"What you give me if I help?"
Eben laughs nervously. "I mean, I don't have much money. I'm only a student."
"No have to pay with money. Can pay with body." The hands on Eben's hips squeeze again.
Eben gasps in shock, alarm, and also a little bit of delight.

Eben had spent the first week swooning with delight at his new living and research situation, following Wulf around asking five questions for every one that got answered, and being watched with a considering eye by Wulf's frankly improbably attractive subordinates.
The village was even throwing him a welcome party! Eben loved parties.

The Mage dips a calligraphy brush in a platter of black ink and brings it up, the other hand holding back his voluminous sleeve. "Hold your testicles up for me, my dear, would you?"
Aldo reaches down and lifts his balls so that the Mage can access his entire taint. One tear leaks out of his eye as he blinks, and runs down his temple.
