By the time they left the club, it was well into the morning, and Sveta and Marlow had to carry Ilya to the car. On the drive back to the hotel, Ilya wondered when Shane had left, when the burning hole in the back of his neck had turned numb.
He had been too drunk to notice. He was too drunk now, slow to react when he saw Scott picking up his phone.
“So, this is the famous Jane,” Scott said down the line.
