For a moment, Henry said nothing. Then, quieter, almost a plea, “When has danger ever kept me away from you?”

“And him?” the innkeeper asked, pointing to Hans.
“My brother,” Henry lied as if it was as boring as talking about the rain.
She looked between them. “You look nothing alike.”
“Half-brothers,” Hans blurted out.
Henry turned to him, his face twisted in confusion. Or was it amusement?
“Family is complicated," he said.

Henry and Hans set out to Kuttenberg to check on one of Katherine's girls. All the while they try to figure out how to bridge the gap after Suchdol.
