Summary
Ever since he was little, Toby knew he was meant for something more. Maybe that's why he always seems to rush into things...relationships, work, trouble. And even though he has a gift--a gift which literally allows him to see when a fist is coming his way--he doesn't always register when a fight is about to break out. At least...that's the excuse he gives other people.
He has to admit…sometimes he does see it coming in time. And maybe it’s the foster kid in him. Maybe it’s the dark side that he finds himself hiding all too often. But, sometimes, he lets the fight happen. And, he thinks, maybe it’s because he deserves the pain. That’s only justice anyways…justice for all the wrongs his gift has done to people. So yeah, he can take a couple punches. No big deal.
He's totally, absolutely fine.
Note: This is my version of what would have happened if The Listener was renewed for a Season 6. In this fic I am hoping to address some of the plot holes this show has been serving us since Season 1 (aka what happened to "Victor Clooney", what happened to Toby's missing brother, what happened to Maya, if Toby has stronger powers we don't know about, etc).
