Summary
Tanjiro's life used to be a comfortable one. At least, he thought it was. It was quite hard to remember what life was like before meeting Muzan. He remembers waking up in a flurry of snow, mind plagued with screams of people he found unfamiliar, and the Devil standing before him.
Nezuko's life used to be straight out of a fairy tale. A doll stuck in a house, waiting to be whisked off by some prince while overprotective brothers and lovely sisters give her all the attention she could ever need. Until the Devil took it all away.
Now Tanjiro is a follower of the Devil himself, traveling through lands and trying to rediscover the purpose of human life. If only the girl surrounded by butterflies would stop plaguing his dreams. -

Giyu blinks up at him, momentarily stunned, and Tanjiro realizes—with a jolt of embarrassment—that he’s straddling the Water Hashira, his knees on either side of Giyu’s hips, hands braced on his chest to steady himself.
Tanjiro freezes, suddenly hyper-aware of every point of contact between their bodies. Giyu's chest rises and falls rapidly beneath his palms, his breath coming in short pants. Their faces are mere inches apart, so close Tanjiro can see the flecks of gray in Giyu's deep blue eyes.
He moves to get up, but as he shifts his weight, he suddenly feels something firm pressing against his bottom. The sensation makes him pause, his breath catching in his throat.

It was all he was good at, after all. When he is nearly killed by Muzan and is turned into a demon alongside his sister, Nezuko, Tanjirou thinks he has been reborn to kill him. Like a star's remains eventually reborn into a new one. Unfortunately, Tanjirou and Nezuko will learn that Muzan had played a more significant role in his family than they realized.
