The Mochi Fox God had an odd way of bringing cookies together. Even odder were the cookies they chose that were content to be as they were.
Strawberry Mochi Cookie was a humble servant of the Mochi Fox Temple and was content to continue being so!
Sonic Water Cookie was a showboating ninja-assassin and was content to continue performing as such!But while caterpillars were content for what they were at the moment, they could always morph into something more.
And in some cases, when peacefulness with that contentedness was disrupted, sometimes the caterpillar would have to adjust.
Especially if it realized the caterpillar next to it was in the same boat as it was, clumsy and uncertain in its confidence no matter how much it believed otherwise. No matter how much they believed that was all there was for them.
And perhaps, a disruption like a windstorm on a rainy day, or a collapsing of something sacred, bringing in someone from outside that circle, would bring that realization to them. -
