The experiences of Drifter, through Kullervo's eyes.
Takes place before The Duviri Paradox, brief mentions during the wuest itself, and after New War. NW is not mentioned.

Summary
Never, in all his Spirals, had the Drifter ever found Humor. Maybe the Orokin author of his favorite "Tales of Duviri" storybook simply didn't appreciate the art of a good joke. Maybe he was, as Teshin often said with that wry smile, merely a sarcastic little shit.
For the first time in centuries, he smiled so broadly his cheeks hurt.
Maybe some of Mathila's mad happiness was rubbing off on him after all, because despite dying day after day in futile attempts to leave, now that he finally could, he wanted to stay and make his make-believe kingdom a better place.

Summary
“You’re thinking about it again…?” She looks at him. Fuck, he has seen her through thick and thin, but the bags under her eyes are mattresses.
“Dad, I can’t… I can’t shake it off. It’s killing me, more than Thrax’ soldiers, more than the Sentients…” He puts his finger on her mouth, silencing her.
“Sleep now. Lay your head on my lap, and sleep.”
