Summary
This is a collection of essays because many of my friends have found elements of this work more useful and complete in its original "special interest infodump" stage than Project Elvhen, so I thought it might be helpful to non-linguist fans who might also be left scratching their heads about some of FenXShiral's work. In the manner of many academics, I have both borrowed from and expanded upon the original. As a note, as I work on this, some of the individual words in the translations may change. That's not because I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm also learning and solidifying more as I write the guide/gain more info from Veilguard, and I'm going to be tweaking it until I'm satisfied, but I want to share what I do have with you!
This is a labor of love, and I have been fiddling with it for years. It's my ultimate goal to make this a speakable language, pushed beyond the cipher, with words that are useful to your average speaker trying to learn it. I also intend to apply a radically kind perspective on the Dalish throughout the work, not tainted by the Chantry's perspective of this ancient and beautiful culture.
Ready to learn to really speak Elvhen this time? Let's do this.

She didn’t ask to save the world. She didn’t ask for the glowy hand. And she definitely didn’t ask for Solas to look better in real life. But here they are: him smirking, her spiraling, and the end of the world politely knocking.

Happy International Fanworks Day 2025!
This expanded calendar of Thedas is based on information from dragonage.fandom.com. It expands the Common and Tevinter month names with Elven ones and provides a detailed calendar complete with leap days to translate real-world dates to dates in Thedas.
A small function on GoogleSheets will allow you to transfer dates without the need for looking up days in a large sheet. Elven months are based in Project Elvhen but have not been verified with FenxShiral. -

Summary
For Merrill, the grief carves a familiar hole in her gut; she didn’t know the other alienage “Keepers” very well, having only coordinated with them for the Conclave, trying to petition for the same exemptions from Templar interference that Dalish clans are allowed. She grieves for the lost potential, for the communities losing their guides, for the families losing each other.
She grieves, and she wants nothing more than for Isabela to be here, carding ringed fingers through her hair and telling her what she has to say to go home to her.
or;
Merrill has always walked the line between respected and feared, loved and lonely. To be a heretical chosen one is almost fitting.[ 1/5/23 NOT ABANDONED I JUST SUCK ]

A Frightened Kiss, A Promise’ from geeky-jez‘s Valentine’s Day meme. All elvhen is courtesy of fenxshiral ‘s Project Elvhen. I’m so pleased he’s written so much NSFW text for me to work with. One day I’ll fit it in less awkwardly. Very NSFW. I'm still fiddling with it, but I'm trying to resist making any further changes.

Summary
This is a project to create a conlang that will expand upon and deepen the Elvhen language that was created for the Bioware game series, Dragon Age. Elvhen, as it is used in the games, is a cipher, not a language. My goal is to create a complete conlang, or at least a simulated conlang, that other fans can use. The goal is to create a constructed language that is to Dragon Age what Sindarin and Quenya are to Lord of the Rings.
I do want to stress that this is a constructed language based upon the limited Elvhen we had encountered within the games. I am not using magical linguistic ninjitsu to "Figure out," the Elvhen language. In terms of the "official," language, consider this linguistic fan-fiction.
This specific work is a collection of my ongoing progress Posts, which you can find on my tumblr (Link below in the notes).
