He practically saw Connor as his own kid, they grew close and taught one another care, empathy and compassion; especially Connor. It was hard to admit, but it was very obvious that they were and are inseparable.
He has to go back, make some kind of silly deal; at least attempt something. He doesn’t want to lose another family.
He knows Connor is capable. He knows she always has been.
If that means there must be another Connor, so be it.
