Even after seeing his daughters thriving with him out of the picture he doesn’t hesitate in taking Rust home too early from the hospital. Can’t find it within himself to deny his request to leave. Doesn’t question it when he finds himself parking in his driveway twenty minutes later, looking over at Rust smoking from the gifted pack of Camels and leaning against the passenger door.
