    Prime moves swiftly, with purpose—lifting, shifting, tossing debris aside as though it weighs nothing. His steps are careful but unrelenting, the ground shaking just slightly under each one. The tremor of the rubble vibrates through Starscream and it feels like knives being jabbed into his wires.

    Of course Optimus Prime would show up. Of course he'd come for one of his own.

    He can't even delegate this to someone else. Optimus Prime is too noble, too compassionate, too honorable to not put his own life on the line for his underlings.

    Megatron would laugh at the very notion.

    Starscream is left to rust after a failed decepticon mission. Optimus Prime does not let him die.

    Summary

    Starscream has been found in critical condition after a fight with Megatron. It will be a very long road to recovery.

    How will he change under the Autobots care? How will the Autobots change with one of their worst enemies stuck in their medbay? How will the Deceptions manage without their Second in Command?

    Change is inevitable. Whether positive or negative, only time will tell.

    12/Sep/25 small update! I'm editing past chapters to fix my usage of "Raph" instead of Raf (sorry) and fix some terminology mistakes (fixing head to be helm and whatnot where I've made mistakes)

    Also, I've cemented a head cannon (first mentioned in the end notes of chapter 23) that Starscream uses Cybertronian time measurements, so I've made some small edits here and there to keep things consistent! Time keys can be found on multiple chapters from before I started implementing this as a part of the story, but I've added one to chapter 3!

    As this is my first fic, I have tried my best not to outright re-write things as I like seeing how far I've come :)
