  1. Summary

It started with Forget Me Not - A Wolf's Tale, but the muses are insistent and seem to all want their own 'side to the story'. So this collection is just that; our muses backstories and side stories along with other bits and pieces based on the AU characterizations we've created in our Emanako universe. As things progress we're likely to renumber the entries to try to get them into timeline order. Muses are chaotic creatures...so are the authors of this series.

    Summary

The flawless ease with which Jaskier lands the job should be his very first clue that the whole thing is a bad fucking deal.

But, never one to look a gift paycheck in the mouth when it seems his indie music career will never take off, Jaskier signs right the fuck up when he walks in and is inexplicably offered the head bartender position at The Medallion.

Jaskier does not consider for a moment that he is actually qualified for it. Sure, he has experience, five years bartending in Oxenfurt before his recent move to Blaviken is nothing to sneeze at, but he has no actual managerial expertise.

Churning out shots, shaking mixed drinks and pulling pints at lightspeed is not something that is intimidating to Jaskier, but being expected to do so while also taking responsibility for managing the two other bartenders on staff is not Jaskier’s forte.

Still, after just over three weeks at his new job, Jaskier is cautiously optimistic that he has indeed, somehow, been able to fake it until he makes it.

That is, until the night that the pub's real owners come to visit, and Jaskier gets his first look at the Wolves who run this town.

    Summary

Geralt of Rivia never asked to be a king. Through a mix of human paranoia and witcher pragmatism, he ended up crowned the so-called Warlord of Kaer Morhen, a title he despises almost as much as the politics that come with it. Instead of fighting drowners, he’s fending off nobles with bribes and marriage proposals, all convinced the witchers are raising an army. When King Foltest suggests sealing a treaty through a political marriage, Geralt finds himself backed into a corner.

The chosen partner is Julian, charming on paper, sharper in truth, and half human. Geralt agrees only out of duty to his keep, Yennefer, and Ciri, knowing one wrong move might frighten his would-be husband to death. But surviving monsters is simple; surviving a marriage arranged by kings may prove the harder task. And if Geralt isn’t careful, obligation may become something far more dangerous: attachment.

    Summary

Geralt had warned him this would happen. He just hadn’t said when, and he hadn’t said where. This was the last place Jaskier expected, hidden in a tiny alcove behind a tapestry of a comely maiden on the back of a unicorn.

Jaskier wanted to reach down and touch himself, but Geralt had told him to keep his ass out and his hands off, or else.

Jaskier was very, very tempted to know what or else meant.

Geralt backs Jaskier into a corner. Gratuitous smut ensues.

    Summary

The Leshy had been the final fucking straw.
For decades, Eskel had found himself increasingly sick of walking the Path and living the life of monsters and money.
He had spent most of his life being hated for something he had no choice in: becoming a mutant.
It was thankless work, people didn’t want to pay even when he’d bested their monster, and everyone was afraid of him.
But winter came yet again as Eskel made his way up to Kaer Morhen, badly injured by a fucking Leshy, of all things,
And by the time Eskel was deemed free of the Leshy and able to rest, everyone else in the Keep was wrapped around the fingers of Geralt’s daughter, Ciri.
So when the pass was clear enough for travel in the spring, Eskel had made up his mind: he was done with doing what was expected of him.
    Eskel wanted to retire.
In years bygone, Eskel had spent some time in Oxenfurt, sitting in on whatever classes at the University that allowed mutants, and he’d thoroughly enjoyed that pursuit of knowledge, though he could never afford the tuition to attend as a student.
And that is how Eskel found himself sneaking silently into a lecture on music theory given by “Professor Julian Pankratz”.
