She laughed when she opened the dossier.
Ted Lasso was a caricature of an American name. She was surprised they had even approved it considering the entire point was to be forgettable.
That was why she had chosen hers—Rebecca Welton. Elegant but nondescript. Ted Lasso was the kind of name that stuck in someone’s memory, Rebecca Welton wasn’t.
“You can’t be serious,” she sneered.
“Tough shit, Blondie. You gave up the luxury of choice when you—”
“I don’t need the reminder.”
After all, she could still smell the blood on her hands.
Unfortunately, within minutes of meeting him, she was irritated to discover that Ted Lasso fit him perfectly. So perfectly it was hard to believe he'd ever had a different name.

Colin Bridgerton was very pleased with his achievements of the previous day. He had foiled a scam which could have brought ruin to Penelope's family and he had made it up to Will Mondrich. Now with the season winding down he is ready to head off on new adventures.
