Summary
Louis has only been working at Em Dash Publishing House for less than a year, so he’s never experienced the way the holiday spirit suddenly takes hold of his workplace during this time of the year. Trying to muster up the courage to finally have a proper chat with his crush, copy editor Harry Styles, who works here too, Louis tries to impress him with his non-existent creative skills, saying he’s going to win the ugly Christmas sweater contest this year. It wasn’t enough for him to give in to an impulsive decision, a forgivable slip he could recover from somehow, maybe by passing it off as a joke or backing out before it was too late. No, when Harry fucked up, he did it properly, making sure there was no chance of saving himself. Impulsive decisions were for amateurs, Harry nurtured the tiny, spontaneous seed of his fuck-ups until it blossomed into a lush and fruit-laden plant, then protected it by building an impenetrable fortress around it, safe from any enemy, but most of all from common sense and self-preservation.
Harry was fucked, and he’d done it all with his own hands.
