Sirius thought he must be mistaken. It was the dark. He screwed up his eyes and looked closer. No mistake. Of course he couldn’t tell colours in the silvery moon light, it just looked black, but he couldn’t think of any completely black liquid that Remus might get smeared and spattered around his mouth like this. It had to be blood.
