Summary
When Neil was a child, he found out he had a soulmate. Someone who was going to be there for him forever, who was going to support him and love him forever, with no questions asked.
That night he dreamt of his soulmate. Dreamt about trucks, gas stations and city signs. He dreamt about the letter A and of early morning sunrises, of cigarettes and glow-in-the-dark stars and black armbands. He didn’t know what it meant or how it related to his soulmate, but he knew it was.

Summary
Soulmates.
The concept of soulmate was so foreign to Neil, because his mother had spent all his childhood telling him that soulmates were a bad thing and that soulmates were only there to make you vulnerable to bad influences and Neil always wondered if his mother were talking from experience with his father or if she had a different soulmate, but she just hadn’t met them yet.

Summary
Andrew watches for too long, but no one joins him. He scans the house windows, cranes his neck like it would help him see past the house to the front drive. But it seems the house has finally found a new owner. And somehow, this is worse, worse than empty year after year. Because at least if it was empty, Andrew could pretend that he might come back, that his family might still own the house and had just decided on a different summer vacation spot for a bit.
But this… This confirms it. He won't see him again.
***
Andrew spent a summer with a little redheaded boy next door eight years ago, and then he disappeared. But now he's back, and Andrew's realizing just how much he missed him.
