Summary
Dwarves are sturdy as stone, unmovable even by a rushing river current. Hobbits, however, are soft and light like moss, and quite easily moved by water unless they have a stone to cling to. The dwarves don't seem to remember this when they choose to cross a river on foot and don't take Bilbo's concerns seriously. The decision leads to Bilbo's life being in danger and both Dwalin and Thorin (and many of the other dwarves) feeling responsible.

Summary
Before that night in the Creel House, Steve wrote a series of letters for the Party. “Just in case,” he said when giving the stack to Nancy, hoping they wouldn’t be needed.
More than a year later, Steve is still in his Vecna-induced coma and the Party has read their letters so many times they can probably recite them from memory.
Or: a Steve Harrington-centric Stranger Things 5 rewrite.
(ST5 spoilers inside)

Summary
Steve has never won a fight. He’s had his ass kicked left, right, and center. Hell, Johnathan has kicked his ass. Steve can bat a monster, but when it comes to people? Steve Harrington has never really won a fight.
But that’s because he’s getting put in the wrong kinds of fights. They think he’s a hammer, when really, anyone who grew up BFFs with Carol becomes a scalpel.
(Dustin gapes like a fish. “Holy shit, dude…” Steve would chide language if he thought it would do anything. “You just performed real life Vicious Mockery. I think that guy took psychic damage!”)
~~~
Or: someone thinks he’s tough shit and is messing with Steve’s kids. Cue the Boss Battle Music. Mama Steve rips the guy to shreds, as he should.
Summary
“If brains were dynamite, Steve wouldn’t have enough to blow himself up.”
- - -
Steve could tell you the exact reason that comment hurt more than anything.
Because he remembered being eleven years old, standing in front of his father in an office that has done nothing more than scare him. Tears had been burning in his eyes as he looked at his father, a man that has never shown him any ounce of love for as long as what Steve could remember. He remembers his father screaming and screaming, red in the face and veins threatening to pop out from his forehead as he hurled insult after insult at his kid.
And what was it that little Stevie could have done that was so bad to warrant the reaction from his father?
He had gotten a B minus on a test, one that he had been sick during and couldn’t concentrate through at all. He tried, he really had tried his fucking hardest, but his brain had been fuzzy that day, he was tired and felt like he was going to be throwing up at any given moment.
But he really did fucking try.
