Zangetsu and the Old Man are both sick of this. Ichigo is the most oblivious idiot on the planet. Anyone (read: everyone he knows) can see he's into Grimmjow, except the Arrancar himself, and an awkward misunderstanding stemming from cultural (read: weird hollow) differences is going to absolutely wreck any chance Ichigo ever has to get what (or who) he truly wants. So his Zanpakuto spirits resolve to step in and fix it, they're just, well... Kind of batshit insane about it.
