Ilya started around the circuit and stopped at the far corner looking at a moody painting. It featured a lake scene in fall at sunset. The colors of the trees were muted and a stillness was on the scene as if the painting was holding its breath. There was a lone figure sitting on the end of the dock. He had his arms wrapped around his knees and was staring out over the water. The sense of isolation and aloneness was in the set of his head and body. Ilya felt himself wanting to reach out to the lonely figure. Something in the painting called out to him and he couldn't stop staring at it.
