When Vox wakes up to a future he doesn't recognise, he slowly starts to find out that someone has been using his body for the last 30 years. He doesn't know how he got here, or why they chose him. But with the help of others he will find out who did this to him and why.

Vox lowers his hands slowly, palms open, a gesture he has not used in decades but which comes back to him like muscle memory. “Something’s wrong,” he says. “And I think you can see it.”
She does not lower the blade. But she looks at him properly now.
Really looks.
Not the screen. Not the silhouette. Him.
Whatever she sees makes her pause.

Summary
When Alastor loses his shadow in a battle with Adam, he loses much more than his power.
Unstable, amnesiac, and unable to exist without an external anchor, he becomes dependent on Vox’s static to hold his fractured body together. Vox calls it protection. Alastor calls it relief.
But Vox remembers the past Alastor can’t and uses it to make things right in all the wrong ways.
This is an au where Alastor loses his shadow and gets amnesia. Alastor is running on instincts to survive and for some reason Vox is the only one he remembers. This is pre-S2, but I still used the info about their relationship to write this.

Vox has been working around the clock to keep Voxtek in control of the Pride Ring after extermination day. To bad he can't seem to control his own software. Or business partners. Or feelings.

Summary
Alastor will rip you to shreds and consume you.
Vox seems harmless at first in comparison. Pathetic even. Not a threat to even worry about. Until you realise too late that he's burrowing through you, ever deeper. Until you realise you can't get rid of him. Until you realise you don't want to anymore. He infects and corrodes you from the inside out until there's nothing left.
