Summary
In an alternate history Victorian England where some technology (most notably audio recording) is anachronistically advanced and the British Empire is starting to collapse, Dr. Watson distracts himself from his spoils of war (PTSD, a prosthetic arm, and a growing resentment towards British nationalism) by obsessively recording his very queer roommate and his very singular profession.
This is planned to be a full rewrite/adaptation of the ACD canon that engages with and hopefully subverts and has interesting conversations about the themes of British imperialism, white supremacy, crime, poverty and gender.
There will be eventual John/Mary/Sherlock but its going to take a While so buckle in. I'm putting the slow in slow burn.

John Watson has always thought himself to be quite basic: straight, white, cis British male, who will probably one day settle down with a nice woman his parents might have liked, and have a couple of kids. That's what men like him do, after all.
If he's occasionally looked in the mirror (or over at his eccentric flatmate Sherlock) and thought that something might be missing from that description, well... everyone has those thoughts sometimes... right?
Sherlock and John meet a new police officer who turns their lives upside down. When presented with people who live their lives loudly and authentically, will the detective and his blogger be able to look at themselves, and say the same?
