Summary
With this new sensation, this beautiful sight, he has been distracted from noticing something was missing.
Something has been absent since the worm entered his eye.
The voice, Cazador’s voice. It’s gone.
It’s gone.
It’s gone.
Astarion reels up to his feet, stumbling on the uneven ground in his fine shoes.
Even in his dreams, even in the deepest of trances, Astarion can feel Cazador. The orders, the rules, that tug in his gut that pulls him, like a fish on a hook, back to the palace when he wanders too far. But it’s quiet.
Astarion’s head has never had more physical occupants but has never been so quiet.
His world hasn’t been this foreign in nearly 200 years, but that's what makes him realize with extreme clarity.
Astarion is wide awake.
AKA: Astarion finds himself far from home, safer than he's been in centuries, yet in more danger than ever. If he's going to keep this scrap of freedom he's going to need to fight for it, and he's going to need protection. Thankfully, a war criminal from the hells seems to fancy him. Best of all? She can’t be touched.

Summary
Wyll’s eyes stay closed, but he cries out in pain, hands twitching as if to push the vampire away.
“I know, love.” Astarion murmurs. “I know.” He looks around again. “KARLACH!”
Footsteps are thundering closer, and gods, Astarion hopes it's the tiefling, or the druid, or even Gale—anybody—because he doesn't know what to do.
Gods, he doesn’t know what to do.

Summary
“What the hells did you do that for?” He growled.
Karlach shook her head in exasperation. “And, of course! Of course, you’re mad at me. How about a ‘thank you?’ Astarion?” She shifted and leaned on one leg, looking at him with a huff.
“A thank you? You must be joking.” His heart was ramming against his chest, but it was slowing, calming. Even as his anger rose.
Karlach let out a long breath. “Well, if I ruined your fun, I’m sorry. But it seemed like you needed a hand.”
She was right.
“I don't need your fucking help.”
Karlach has joined the party, but her incessant positivity and zest for life have Astarion constantly on edge. He refuses to buy this act of hers. No one goes through what she had been through and comes out smiling.
Right?

Summary
Astarion found himself watching Gale more than he was watching Dirty Dancing. He looked quite young to be getting divorced, he thought to himself. The gossip in him was dying to know the full story, but he knew full well that it would be really stupid to start prying into a practical stranger’s personal life.
As he was about to ask, because fuck it, he was probably never seeing this man again, Gale reached below his seat and grabbed a notebook and pen from a satchel. A satchel. The man was going on what amounted to a mid life crisis of a holiday (or, to be fairer to him, a third of a life crisis, because he looked to be about Astarion’s age), and he’d brought a satchel?!
**
Lawyer Astarion Ancunín had a chance encounter with film professor Gale Dekarios on a flight to New York. And then another chance encounter at a bar. And when he found out he’s in the middle of a messy divorce, well, what was Astarion to do? Aside from sleep with him, which was obviously a given.
Astarion didn’t believe in love stories. But life had accidentally thrown him into one of his own.

Summary
"Once, in the first decade of my slavery, I found a darling boy who I couldn't bear to bring back to him. So I ran, instead of hurting that sweet man."
-
Hunted like a dog, Astarion faces the consequences of running. This isn't about the tomb or the darling
boy—this is about hope and how quickly it can be squandered in a decade. -

Summary
"Now look what you've done, boy." Cazador tuts, dragging a claw through the gore, relishing in the way the spawn writhes and sobs harder beneath him. Tears make a trail through the blood and grime on Astarion's face as he pants, chest heaving, trying not to vomit. "What a pathetic sight you make...but still, such a pretty canvas."

Cazador indulges in a night of poetry.

Summary
Wyll Ravengard is a journalist, investigating a medical corporation promising a solution to the organ donor waiting list. Wyll schedules an interview with one of the vampire spawn acting as a living donor for Cania Innovations, trying to puzzle out if this is exploitation or altruism.
Astarion Ancunín has been traded to a new master, one determined to wring all potential profit out of the 7,000 spawn he has acquired.
That was then? Now? Now they’re roommates.

Summary
”Mr. Dekarios… what happened?”
”I - I don’t know Tara. I opened the book, then everything went black. When I woke up I felt a tightness in my chest and,” He jestured to his left side “This had appeared.”
- Or -The Netherese Orb absorbs life energy and now Gale kills everything he touches. After a year of fruitless research in his tower, he goes to Baldur’s gate looking for answers. He takes a job as a cook in a seedy tavern so he can use the animals on the menu to feed the orb.
Astarion is out on the prowl and his latest hunting ground shows promise. It’s a shame the handsome guy in the kitchen is so shy. He would be excellent prey.
