Summary
Makenna stretched out on the chaise, taking care to let the butter-yellow sundress ride up her thighs as she fixed her eyes on the side of Solas’ face. A romance book with a well-worn spine was affixed in her hand but she had stopped reading several minutes ago. She rolled the words around in her mind once more. A well-rehearsed script that she had practiced with herself in front of a mirror and also with Raina playing the part of Solas. The latter caused the two to break out into a fit of laughter and they couldn’t finish with a straight face. Makenna would start with the script, if that didn’t work, well, there were other uses for her mouth that might get him to agree.
“No,” he said, not looking up from thick stack of documents in front of him.
“I didn’t even ask anything yet,” she huffed.

Makenna begs Solas to go to the masquerade knowing that she will be auctioned off to the vampire elite as a companion for the weekend. He refuses, but she has a plan that might make them both happy.

He felt Ellana smile into his throat, as she took advantage of his distraction. Eyelids fluttered as she nipped at the juncture of his neck, but he kept them firmly fixed on Cullen.
“I–I didn’t send for you, Solas. It was–This just happened.” Cullen had all but stopped moving under Solas’ scrutiny, nerves getting the better of him.
Solas rose to stand, eliciting a sad whine from Ellana as he moved away. He rounded the desk with a hunter’s graceful gait. Head tilted, he leaned in closer to the commander. “You appear to have stopped again, when I explicitly told you not to.”
When Solas is urgently called to Commander Cullen's office he is greeted by a rather unexpected surprise.

Beset by dreams he’d shielded her dreaming mind from wandering into, populated with spirits of desire that teased and tempted in equal measure. Flickering remnants of his form intertwined with hers clung to his mind as surely as sweat had stuck to his skin on waking.
He ought to have waited for the physical effects to subside. To have returned his gaze to the forgotten papers at his desk rather than follow the swing of her hips and curve of her ass as she exited the rotunda.

Ellana stared blankly at him until he sighed, putting down his half-crushed pigments. The chair made a soft scraping noise as he stood up and dusted what color he could off his fingertips. "It is pronounced 'ir abelas,' vhenan," his voice dipped low, stressing the syllable on his words before he continued, "Repeat it."
"Ir abelis," she smirked, purposely mispronouncing the word. His tone dropping a pitch sent that thrill through her that she had originally been chasing. Solas shook his head, the disappointment fading from his eyes, replaced by something dark and hard.
Ellana's heart began to beat faster when he stepped closer until he was looming over her. She had forgotten how tall he was, the top of her head only coming up to his collarbones. The touch of his hand on her chin was light, lifting it up so she met his gaze.
"Do you need a more stringent lesson?"
"Perhaps," her voice came out slightly breathless.
