Summary
Muichiro has a bad habit of comparing himself to others. He seems to only be sad when little, regressed to young and needing to much attention compared to the others around him. He comes to the conclusion that how he regresses must be wrong.
Spending time at the Uzui's with Tanjiro also regressed only confirms this. Or at least he thought it would.

Shouto didn’t set out to hurt anyone, but all actions have consequences, and no punishment is more effective than having others suffer for your mistakes.
