Summary
There are pearls forming in Neptune's hair every now and then. The Ice Giant is always a bit embarrassed by the glowy small orbs that seem too noticeable in his blue locks. And yet...
Throwing them away felt wrong.
Like a part of himself is getting discarded. So, Neptune choose a different way for them to still hold use- sew them on his moons, his treasures- clothes.
OR:
Neptune left a mark on his children that will always lets him remember.
Or or:
4 times they notice and 1 time they realise the purpose.

Just like how Phobos and Deimos were named after the Gods of Fear and Dread, he was Ares, the God of War. How could the God of War be weak?
Mars was strong. Big. Amazing! He was the bestest planet ever and Phobos loved him sooo much!
Nothing could knock his awesome planet down.
...
Neither Phobos nor Deimos had ever seen Mars hurt before.
The little moon didn't even think it was possible. He was Mars! Their parent planet, their big brother, nothing could take Mars down!
Nothing!
"How could you attack Mars and Venus?!"
Nothing but an army of moons, apparently.
Or
The moons of Mars aren't too happy with the state their planet is in.
To the point it even haunts them in their dreams.

His orbit had never been this dark.
Or cold. Neptune shivered, pulling his hood up while hugging himself as he hesitantly looked around- usually, he would start seeing Sun more clearly by now. His orbit should be warming up again as the area cleared, and then once again, he would get to hang out with Uranus.
Only... his orbit hadn't stopped becoming darker. Or colder. At this point, the Sun had become a distant dot in the sky. He... couldn't see anyone- not Uranus, Jupiter, or Saturn. Nobody.
Okay. Maybe his orbit changed again. That's fine. The solar system was always changing. No reason to worry!
He giggled to himself
nervouslyand turned around- the Kuiper Belt looked closer than their star at this point. That... wasn't good, right? Wasn't that too far?No, no, it's fine. His orbit will go back to normal soon enough.
This isn't fine. Go back.

He really wished he could remember more. If not for himself- for his moons, at least.
