He'd had no warning, no chance to say his farewells. Wild had been dragged home for his second Journey with no direction or explanation.
Now Wild stood there, on the edge of the forest with trembling, mis-matched hands, wondering if this was even real. To them, he'd been gone for two months, but to Wild? Nine years was a very long time.

But where Eggman always has his robots to fall back on at the end of the day, Sonic has learned to always catch himself.

None of this made sense. His parents were being nice to him! He'd almost forgotten what that felt like. It was just a shame it had taken him getting a concussion to get this far - it wasn't like they happened often. But... there were other ways he could get hurt, right? This would stop eventually, when he was completely better, but if he got hurt again they’d be concerned, wouldn’t they?

This was the last straw. There was no way he could stay here after this. So he decided to run away. Go to the house of the only adult who's ever cared about him. It'll be easy, he knows the street he lives on. He'll just take a bus, and wander around until he figures out which house belongs to him. Too bad things are never as easy as they seem.
