Perhaps in a different life, Wei Wuxian wouldn't have returned to Gusu with Wangji. Lan Qiren wouldn't have been given the chance to see the purity of Wei Wuxians heart, or to find fondness in his own for her. He would have seen Wei Wuxian as the threat the other clans did, and would have stood idly to the side as they tore her apart.
But this is not a different life, and Lan Qiren is not the man he was.

Pro Hero media is a mess of differing opinions on Deku, ranging from idolization to condemnation. Fan clubs and hate clubs alike have popped up online. Despite his rousing speech in Hosu and his call to action, Deku has been notably absent from the public eye in any meaningful way.
With tensions high and no word from the one at the heart of all the chaos, the question must be asked: just what the hell is Hero Intern Deku doing?

All around him the reporters start to whisper even as their cameras flash, questions bubbling up from the crowd as microphones are shoved even closer to him than before.
But Izuku barely even notices.
“I-I’m sorry everyone,” Izuku manages to force himself to say, attention still firmly towards the east even as the stutter he’d finally mostly mastered years ago makes a rare reappearance. “I … I have to go.”
