Summary
Lots of things about them were unconventional. Xena was an ex-warlord vigilante on speaking terms with various gods. Gabrielle was a farmgirl who became an Amazon Princess and a respectable bard to boot. Saving Solstice was just another Tuesday night for them.
In the calm that followed, Gabrielle was sure she knew where they stood: an inseparable team traveling the countryside, fighting for the greater good. Friends using their wiles and convoluted plays to change the minds of miserly kings. Certainly not lovers, whatever the rumors said.
Many friends traveled together and cooked for each other and knew each other's habits like their own. Plenty of friends agreed to silly plans when they'd rather use a show of force. All friends slept cuddled up in each other's arms even when there was plenty of space to themselves.
