Stede cocks his head to the side, genuinely confused. "Why on earth would you think you don't deserve it?"
Memories flash through Ed's head- strangling his father on the docks, the ship he set ablaze, the deaths of dozens of men vicariously through him, throwing Lucius overboard, sailing his crew into a storm... the list went on, and Ed didn't know how to explain all of this to Stede without keeping him here for days.

“Whatever I see, I promise I won’t run away.”
Lucifer shakes his head and keeps his eyes trained on the floor. “You say that now, but you haven’t seen it yet.” He whispers. Lucifer places both of his hands on either side of her face and shuts his eyes. He takes a deep breath to steady himself before continuing. “Shut your eyes whenever you are ready, you can open them when things get too intense.”
A short one shot about Lucifer's reluctance to say "I love you" to Chloe.

People said the colors simply burst into being once you meet your soulmate. That your vision gets trapped in a vortex of colorful magnificence, that your life is only meaningful from that day forward.
They preached the colorful world, had brochures and courses and first instructions for the colorblind that suddenly had their world shaken by color.
But it wasn’t how it had happened to him.
Colors hadn’t burst all of a sudden. His world hadn’t been shaken to its core. The colors had come slowly, as little things in his day. They had had their time to develop as that bubbly little thing grew inside him.
In hindsight, Lucifer should’ve known it wouldn’t have happened like that for him. Nothing in his life ever happened as it was supposed to…

Chloe took a deep breath.
“I’m not sure if you’re aware, but uhm- tomorrow is Father’s Day,” she said, looking down at her lap.
Lucifer was not aware of that.
“Oh,” he replied quietly.It's Chloe and Lucifer's first Father's Day after finally getting into a relationship, and they both know it's not an easy day for either of them. But for the first time, they have each other to get through it. Later, Trixie returns home from her day with Dan and has a surprise.

It was then that she realized the other thing she heard in Lucifer’s voice.
Fear.
Not anxious, or uneasy, or even a little scared, like how Trixie sometimes got when she knew she was in trouble.
No.
There was pure unadulterated fear in his voice. He was terrified of his Father.
She could not imagine the kinds of things she would have to do for Trixie to look at her like that.
And for that, she was furious.Chloe blinks and Lucifer's gone from the Evidence room. She heads back out to the precinct floor to find 3 angels and a stranger is some kind of weird celestial stand-off. When Chloe finds out who the stranger is... well let's just say she isn't too happy, and it may or may not result in her trying to punch the Creator of the Universe in the face.
