Ilya took another deep breath, “Please. I cannot fix it if I do not know. Is it because I was too needy?”
“No, it fucking wasn’t, Ilya!” Shane shouted, eyes shining. “There is quite literally nowhere else that I would rather be. I have moved heaven and earth to have you in my life. You make me. Do you understand that? Loving you makes me who I am. It is a privilege to be here when you are having a hard time. But oh my fucking god, I am so tired of you treating me like absolute dog shit when you get sad. It has to fucking stop."

Merry, instinctively, pelted a large rock at a Warg's eye with a cry as it came too close — it reared its ugly head, falling in line for Aragorn's Andrúil to pierce it through.
'Good aim,' he panted, carding the hair back from his eyes, 'We shall make you a slingshot yet.'
'A bow may suit him!' Came Legolas' bird-song call from above. His shadow spun a swift curvet against the coming dark, silver hair gleaming with the last vestiges of marigold skies. 'Alas, we could bear another archer!'
'You would want that, wouldn't you?' Gimli shouted.
