Summary
Paul is reading through the newest draft of Sally's book when Percy comes up to him and asks if he can take Estelle down to the water. He raises an eyebrow at him. “You don't really need my permission for that, Percy. I'm not exactly concerned about either of you drowning.”
Percy rolls his eyes good-naturedly. “Come on, I just need somebody to hold her. I'd wait for Annabeth to do it, but she and mom always take forever getting groceries.”
“Oh, is big brother showing off his Son of the Sea God skills?” Paul teases. “Going to have your hands full, huh?”
Surprisingly, Percy looks horrified to the point of being ill. “Of course not,” he says earnestly, and for some reason he sounds like he's apologizing. “I'd never do anything like that around her. I promise.”
Paul frowns and closes his laptop. “If that's the case, why do you need somebody to hold her?”
“Well, obviously I can't hold her.”
Paul's blood turns to ice.

Paul and Percy have a talk. They talk about trust. They talk about danger. They talk about Estelle. But maybe most importantly they talk about love.

I wrote this in class and instead of sleeping and it’s somehow one of the most poetic things I’ve written. It’ll make sense if you read it I swear

"Gods," He says, hazy smile, "That was so long ago." Nico hums, and Percy adds: "We were just kids."
"We're still just kids." Nico insists, nineteen and a little high on his friend's collage apartment's balcony. Holding onto the opportunity to be a child, an opportunity that only came after the earth was asleep again, and his sword became a tool for sparring at camp and fighting off slow cyclopses in alleyways of New York City, rather then his lifeline.
"Speak for yourself," Percy smiles that smug smile of his, would-be-mocking if it weren't for the constant kindness in his eyes "I'm about to be a married man."
Or- On Percy's twenty second birthday party, he finds Nico hiding away on his balcony. He offers some weed and heartfelt conversation.
