    Looking back on his friendship with Ivan, Till should have known something was off from the beginning. He always seemed to do things to purposefully bother Till or set him up for embarrassment in some way or another, but Till didn’t realize this fact until it was much too late.

    So, it stands to reason that on one of their many sleepovers during adolescence, Till agreed to play a game with Ivan. The game was seemingly innocuous, one Till had seen played countless times before by other children on the playground or in school. What was weird was the additional rules that Ivan imposed on the game, claiming it was the “real way to play.”

    The night started like any other. Till’s mother dropped him off at Ivan’s house in the early afternoon and told the boys she would be back in the morning to pick him up. It was nothing out of the ordinary, this was the same routine they followed almost every weekend for as long as Till could remember.

    “Have you ever played Uno before, Till?” Ivan asks curiously, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips.
