Summary
The Romans have conquered Iberia. Jayce is ripped from his home and taken to Rome to be sold as a slave when he catches the eye of one of the most powerful men in the whole city— consul Viktor.

Summary
Jayce’s laugh rings out suddenly, bright and careless, and Mel’s gaze snaps to him as it grabs her attention. He’s leaning over one of the worktables, sleeves rolled up and hair a little more unruly than usual, as if sleep has recently become an optional concept. It must be, she supposes, considering the very recent change in routine that has happened.
Viktor sits beside him, looking just as exhausted and with his shoulders drawing a firm line of concentration. There is a healthy glow to him, however, a happiness that burns inside him and shines through in subtle smiles and content sighs.
All normal, after what they’ve been through. What is not normal, is that they should be here in the lab so soon. And bringing the new addition to their family as well.
