Till would even expect to hear something like that from a class that decided to put on a play, right before they go on stage. Any scenario he comes up with is all in the range of celebratory but attendance non-mandatory, and sometimes not even expected.
He hears it, instead, from Ivan, right outside of his own funeral hall.
