“You should tell him,” Charles says quietly.

    “Tell who what?”

“Don’t act dense, John,” Charles says and steps closer, lowering his voice, “You ain’t.”

    “Why?”

“He feels bad about all this,” Charles murmurs, “Real guilty.”

    “... Why guilty?” John whispers.

“You know Dutch and… He really honed in the idea that someday Arthur would take a wife, inherit the ranch, carry on this place,” Charles sits lightly on the edge of John’s bed, “He was so scared when he told me he couldn’t stop dreaming about me… Drunk, and still scared shitless.”

“He’s… I won’t say anythin’ but I don’t think Dutch would be… Mad, really,” John says quietly, linking his fingers over his belly, “If he found out y’all was foolin’ ‘round.”

Charles doesn’t say anything, doesn’t quite meet his eyes.

The realization drops in John like a lead weight.

“Oh,” John whispers, “You ain’t just foolin’ ‘round.”

"In a flash, Killua’s hand shifts into razor-sharp claws, nails elongating and veins bulging.  He holds it firmly against Gon’s throat, not hard enough to cut into him, but a warning.

'Who the hell are you?' he demands, voice low and dangerous in a way Gon has only heard on a handful of occasions."

An unknown Nen ability causes Killua to lose all memory of Gon, and he's extremely suspicious of the story Gon tells him of the life they allegedly share. Love, belonging, a cozy apartment with both of their names on the lease--it's simply too good to be true. For someone like Killua, that sort of life just isn't possible. For someone like Killua, Gon just isn't possible.

    Summary

The first time Zoro suspected Sanji was up to something was when he found an excuse to lose Zoro on a grocery run. Zoro had been trying to break away for several island stops grocery trips but the shit cook always found a way to hold onto Zoro, even in the heaviest of crowds. And then suddenly one day, he sent Zoro away, with a request to buy a specific item from a specific store. And because the island's layout was confusing and stupid, it took Zoro an hour and a half to make it back to the same place and there Sanji was, bitching about Zoro getting lost.

But he looked different. As Zoro walked around the Sunny’s deck that night, he realized that Sanji was sweating, on a relatively cool island, and was that lipstick? Just a tiny speck on the corner of Sanji’s mouth?

Zoro didn't care what the cook did but the fact was…interesting.

    Summary

If you asked poets and minstrels, and lovey-dovey aristocrats wooing naive wenches across Bohemia, they would tell you that absence makes the heart grow fonder. If you asked young lord Hans Capon of Pirkstein, however, he’d tell you it’s an idiotic, pestilential sentiment coined by some daft cunt who never had to suffer the terror and indignity of being parted from their heart’s desire. Or they’ve just never met Henry.

Each time Hans cannot see him, the walls of the world start closing in, threatening to crush him. Each time Henry is away, the young lord has to face the terrifying reality of longing, craving, dreaming, yearning—and the frustration of not knowing whether the blacksmith’s boy is even alive. Worse! The frustration of not knowing whether the bastard misses him as bad as Hans does.

And then, each time Henry returns to him, two crucial things dawn upon Capon’s head: one, he needs to remember there are books that speak of love he dares not voice himself. Two: he might not agree with absence making the heart fonder, but it sure does make his cock ache.

From Nebakov to Suchdol, a study of the times Hans missed Henry—and the times they reunited. Canon compliant; filling in the gaps.
