Harry Potter doesn’t notice when the ideation turns into planning. With his mind set, he sets forth a chain of events that will change not only his own life, but the lives of everyone around him.
Severus Snape never believed in second chances. When he finds Harry Potter on the edge, he doesn't see James Potter, he doesn’t even see Lily. All he sees is a heavy burden placed unfairly onto a boy’s shoulders, and the exhaustion impossible to miss in his eyes. In a moment of desperation, he follows the boy into the dark, and finds himself waking up 2 years earlier.
Severus never believed in second chances, but he does now. Merlin knows he won’t screw everything up the second time around.
