“Alright,” Sanji leaned forward, steepling his fingers in his lap as he flashed Zoro an impish grin. “If you’re so sure, how about we make it a bet?”
Zoro perked up, responding to the competitive twist in his tone. The hairs on his arms were already standing on end, his skin prickling with goosebumps at the thought of another chance to put the prissy bastard in his place. “What kind of bet?”
Sanji tapped the end of his pen against his lips, looking smug and over-confident in a way that had Zoro’s combative side swelling instinctively against the challenge. “Using what I know about you from the unfortunate times we’ve spent together. I’ll plan a date I think you’ll enjoy.”
Zoro blinked, taken aback. “You’re gonna take me on a date?” He asked incredulously.
“We’ll call it a practice date."

Zoro stared. Then the words registered, and heat flared up his neck.
“I’m not a fucking mutt!”
“Looks like a mutt to me,” the vampire decided.

“Yes,” was the first word out of Sanji’s mouth, sounding clipped and annoyed. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the last.
Maybe it was because it was Yonji who had asked, or maybe some part of Sanji’s subconscious was just hellbent on putting him through misery. Whatever force compelled him—because he certainly hadn’t said it with a sane mind—he found that the next words out of his mouth were, “His name is Zoro.”

Summary
Zoro agrees to spend Christmas with Sanji, Zeff, and the rest of the Baratie staff, but he’s not sure he’ll make it out alive. Even though he and Sanji have been dating for quite some time, he’s never gotten the old man to like him, and really, all Zeff seems to want to do is kill him.
But when he’s alone with Zeff on Christmas Eve, shoveling the snow out of the Baratie parking lot, he decides to take initiative in their relationship. Surely, there’s a way to charm the head chef, right?
