This is a OC x Canon story :]
The OC is Violet! A part cat part hedgehog hybrid with supernatural powers she can barely control. Working at a cafe gets a tad repetitive sometimes. During another boring, normal day, she finds herself out of her comfort zone.
This universe is of my own, its vaguely based off other medias and series but its simply my imagination at work for the most part. In this, their heights are altered to "human heights." :]
This is my first fic in like 4 years, pray for me. Please.

Summary
Gordon Freeman did not ask for a second chance.
He didn't ask for Benrey to come back from the dead, bleeding, dazed, and weirdly casual. He never asked to smell the same metallic smell and see the same run-down science facility every time he closed his eyes, or feel the same panic he did a year ago when Benrey does something so simple as to steal a fry from him.
But for some reason, Gordon helps him anyway.
Maybe cause he's stubborn. Or curious.
Or maybe because if he can understand Benrey—and forgive him—he can try to put this all behind him. (It's really a mystery.)
Meanwhile, Benrey's still figuring out how to be a human. But it's hard. Especially when your past is half-fake and your existence might've been a lie, and when Gordon Freeman's staring at you like you personally murdered his dog.
