Summary
When Izuku comes to, he’s lying in a puddle and missing a shoe. He rubs his head and sits up. He’d been in the middle of stopping an armed bank robbery when one of them had hit him with a beam of light, and now he’s sore and bleary-eyed in a vaguely familiar playground. In civvies, he realises abruptly. His one visible sock has a dog face printed on the toes.
“Good job, dummy,” snorts someone behind him. “Can you go five minutes without almost knocking yourself out?”
Izuku turns. It’s a little blond boy with red eyes and a smirk Izuku definitely remembers. “Kacchan?”
“What, did you hit your head?”
Slowly, Izuku stands. Everything’s big. Frowning, he checks his reflection in the puddle he just fell into. He’s met with big eyes and unruly green hair. “Holy shit,” he says quietly. “I’m tiny.”

Sachiko’s eyes land on Teru at last. He tries not to flinch. “Mikami-san, I’ve heard so much about you! Come in, come in.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” Teru says, doing a graceful half-bow as he shuffles inside. The Yagami house is beautiful, all natural wood paneling and rustic decor, exactly what you would expect from a residence in the countryside. In his peripheral vision he notices Light looking around almost as much as Teru is. “I’ve heard a lot about you as well.”
This is technically true and also a blatant lie. Light had laid out what was essentially a biography of his mother’s life yesterday as though reciting facts from a history textbook.

Izuku watches long fingers slowly reach out of the glass, wrapping themselves around the mirror’s edge as the man steps into real life. It smells like sugar and smoke. The clouds follow him out as he bows his head to fit his deadly-looking horns through the frame, red tattoos glowing faintly all over his bare torso and half onto his leathery wings. He makes the rest of the room seem dimmer just by standing in it. Molten metal eyes bore into Izuku’s, paralysing him as he kneels on the floor in front of this beautiful, terrifying apparition.
“I summoned you because want a boyfriend,” Izuku says and then winces at the shallowness of his own request. “I mean, I want to fall in love. I want to be assured that I’ll find someone someday who’ll love me the way I love them. Who isn’t grossed out by me. By the way I am.”
The demon tilts his head. "I offer you a place at my side. You want companionship? I give it in exchange for your soul.”

She falls asleep on him, nose twitching as she snores, clutching his tail to her chest like he’s the small, fuzzy, huggable thing. He doesn’t dare put his arm around her. He’s not dense— he knows what this would be if this were anyone else, if this were a cute girl he’d picked up at a bar that he’d wined and dined and cuddled with all night on the couch. He’d wake her with a kiss and see where things take them, if this were some girl.
But it’s Judy, and Nick’s just happy she’s here, so he doesn’t wake her at all.
(Nick thinks he's writing down observations about the most interesting mammal in his life. What he's really doing is falling head over tail in love.
And he's going to be annoying about it, because he's a bastard.)
