Vi paced the length of the room with her chin pinched firmly between her fingers. She had been tracing a wide oval on the floor, her boots clanking heavily with every step. They had been over the plan several times already, Viktor lamented soundlessly, but he understood her nerves. Ekko, who was busy spinning himself in one of Viktor’s office chairs, slowed to a stop with an exaggerated groan, dragging the toe of his shoes along Viktor’s floor. “Vi, how many more times are you gonna make us—”
“Until it’s perfect, Ekko.” Vi interrupted brusquely. “Everyone needs to be on the same page about what they’re doing, where they’re supposed to be, and what we’re after. We’re not gonna get another shot at this for months if we fail.”

OR: The kids from Zaun have a plan—find whatever Jayce Talis has been working on and steal it. The Progress Day Gala is the perfect opportunity to do so. The only issue? Viktor has to attend to "present" his research to Heimerdinger. He should be in and out quickly—just long enough to get Vi into place and dip. If all goes smoothly, he'll never have to interact with Jayce Talis at all. Simple, right?

Summary
With a fresh doctorate and a year of teaching experience, Viktor goes into his second year as a professor at Piltover University with high confidence and an even higher class average.
And Jayce, after taking a year to spend some time traveling with his mother, makes his way back to Piltover to accept a position at the same university.
Conveniently–or not so conveniently, depending on your involvement–the two meet once again under less than desirable circumstances: they’d had a one-night-stand the week before, and are now coworkers in very close proximity. Neither expected to see the other after that, and neither is at all excited about it.
But there’s something about “all possibilities,” so, naturally, the two grow closer as time passes, despite their best efforts not to.

Featuring a very awkward reunion, because what does one even do in this situation; a continuation of a night that was only supposed to be one; ye olde forced proximity trope with a hint of miscommuniation; Viktor being pretentious about tea and Jayce not caring whatsoever; and a lot of semicolons, because who doesn’t love semicolons?

He was already showered and ready for the day, which he knew was going to be starting soon, it was already- Jesus 8AM? He had to get moving. Skyler should be here soon, he thought absently, should she not? He pulled his phone from his pocket as he let the door shut behind him, did she maybe text him and he just hadn’t seen it?
Ah. He had a few missed texts it seemed.
Displayed brightly on his screen were three texts, the first from his aforementioned assistant. Second was from Viola, a picture he’d have to actually open the message to see and the words ‘did you get it yet?????????’ received about 3 minutes ago. He didn’t need to guess what she meant as yes, he had in fact gotten it. It was from an unknown number, a simple ‘this is joel we should meet to run lines over lunch,’ and he definitely wasn’t mentally scolding his clothing choice for the day.Series
