    Summary

Leon's spent the last hour watching his target drink and flirt and dance while his hearing slowly goes from the deafening music of this overly-packed club. He wishes that he could have at least picked his own outfit for this mission. People keep staring at him, and he already hates undercover missions enough as it is. They've made it that much harder for him by sticking him into the tightest clothes he's ever worn, and if he has to evade one more person offering to buy him a drink he's going to resort to pretending not to speak English.

The night is slogging on and there's no hope in sight for him to complete this mission easily. At this point, he's hoping for a miracle to come along so that he can get it done quickly and leave this place behind.

    Summary

The end of the world came quietly.

Leon had experienced something similar before, driving into Raccoon City in an eerie silence that only broke when he was deep in the city and the air was suddenly filled with the twisted moans of the undead. He’d thought the city was abandoned, before he realized it was now inhabited with walking corpses instead. The dead who were simultaneously so quiet and never really quiet.

So when he woke up one morning in his hotel room and the city around him was too quiet, he already had a bad feeling. He was probably one of the first to figure out what was going on.

    Summary

Once Leon was sitting in the evac helicopter, the extracted files already handed over, still covered in mud and BOW guts, he remembered that earlier his phone had chimed with a text message. This time, he pulled out his phone, trying to make sure his hands were relatively clean at least, and tapped open the messages.

Mom called. I’m sorry the princess camp was canceled.

Leon blinked. Princess camp? What? The message was from a number that wasn’t in Leon’s contacts, too, so there was no other option than for it to be a wrong number. At least so Leon was hoping, because if his next job would be at some kind of a princess camp he was going to quit. Fake his own death. Anything. He couldn’t help but to be amused by the text, though, and so he wrote back: Aw and here I was really looking forward to wearing a tiara.

Or, Leon gets an accidental text sent into the wrong number and it ends up changing his life for the better.

    Summary

    “Agent Kennedy!”

Alarmed, Leon straightened his shoulders, still wary of this stranger. He didn’t think they’d ever met, because he would’ve remembered those bright eyes and kissable lips. The guy was handsome in a sort of a boyishly charming way, and had they met at a bar Leon would’ve definitely considered approaching him. Now though, all that just flashed through his mind in a split second before he blurted out a “Who the hell are you?” followed up by “What the hell are you doing here?”

The guy laughed, and damn. He had dimples. “Chris did warn me that you’d be kind of prickly.”

Or, Leon gets some unexpected backup on his rogue mission in the Eastern Slav Republic.

    Summary

Some of the burnt skin washed off with the water, and Leon couldn’t help but hiss with pain, as much as he tried to hold it back. He expected Piers to ignore it, but instead he suddenly was met with concerned green eyes and the softest tone of voice imaginable. “I know it hurts,” Piers said, rubbing his thumb over Leon’s wrist where the skin wasn’t injured. “Breathe. I’ll be careful.”

Leon pinched his mouth shut, trying not to show how his lip was wobbling. The lump in his throat was back, tears springing back to his eyes, but stubbornly he breathed through his nose and tried to focus on every single inhalation to distract himself. Holding back tears had never been this hard, usually he was really damn good at pushing his feelings into neat little boxes to be ignored, but now? It was like everything was in shambles and he no longer knew how to keep himself under control.

    --
Or, Leon has a breakdown. Piers is there for him.
