Danny stares up at him, and with their positions, he’s not that far away. He’s still touching Steve in a way that they’d agreed was suggestive. Steve ignores the swoop in his belly and holds Danny’s gaze.
“Alright,” Danny says, slowly. “I guess, something like this, probably.” His hand, pressed flat to Steve’s spine, creeps down, carefully.
Or: Danny demonstrates how a touch to the back can be very suggestive. Steve is maybe a little more convinced than he lets on.

Summary
At first Danny sleeps on the couch and lives out of a bag and complains only a little. Then he sleeps on the couch and lives out of a bag and complains a lot, until one afternoon Steve has had enough and empties out half of the ancient oak wardrobe in his room. “Happy now?” he asks.
“Ecstatic,” Danny says, very drily.
Or: Danny needs clothes and Steve needs sleep, and they both need Steve’s bedroom to achieve their goal. It’s quite a conundrum for a Saturday morning.

And Steve is done. Or no, in fact, he’s so far past done someone’s going to have to scrape off the burnt edges after this, but he is still simmering with rage over the thought that anyone could bear to treat their own kids this way, so he says, “Yes.”
